Release Date: May 4th 2009
Hot off an incredible april which saw him perform at Bal en Blanc and A State Of Trance Episode 400, Markus Schulz presents his monthly selection of 15 tracks that have featured on his Global DJ Broadcast radio show in recent weeks, all in their full unmixed versions.
Arriving in pole position this month is a track many could argue as the biggest and most important release in the history of Coldharbour Recordings. For the past 12 months, one of the most requested tracks on Global DJ Broadcast and Markus Schulz’s live sets has been the beautiful Biscayne by Elevation. The track won the accolade of Global Selection an unprecedented 7 times, and will remain one of the greatest progressive trance anthems for many years to come.
One of the names which have featured regularly on Global DJ Broadcast tracklists so far in 2009 is Dutchman Steven Baan, better known to many as Estiva. The wonderful Fading Freedom has been an almost permanent fixture on the show throughout March and April, and is worthy of its high ranking in this month’s selection. Likewise, Ashley Wallbridge continues his personal streak of appearing on GDJB Top 15 packages, his track Spitfire featuring this month.
The first edition of Global DJ Broadcast each month is the World Tour – a live recording of one of Markus’ many gigs across the world. In recent months, tracks that have regularly featured on these marquee shows are Starglow from Athens, and Seize The Day & Laserbrain in Melbourne, all of which providing a tough and upfront offering.
Four tracks from Markus’ much heralded compilation Toronto ’09 also feature in the package – Crash Into Reason and Sound of Flight. Both have been featured on numerous occasions on the show, and with full remix packages in development, there will be more to come from as we move into the summer. These are complimented with M.I.K.E.‘s engaging groover under his Project MC alias, Bromley Avenue, and Miami native Element One‘s tech-influenced pounder, South Haven.
Already featuring in the March 2009 Top 15, New York’s DJ Eco returns with the sublime Borealis, found in Markus’ World Tour broadcast from Aerobar in Miami. With additional backup from names such as Kyau & Albert, Gui Barone, Hamilton and Monogato, this is certainly a Top 15 selection that boasts plenty on offer for everyone.
